Research

ACES is a cross-disciplinary environmental research centre working in partnership between the University of Aberdeen and the James Hutton Institute. By collaborating with academics and members of the policy, practitioner and business communities, we work to promote interest and engagement in interdisciplinary research on issues related to environmentally sustainability.

What makes the ACES vision for interdisciplinary research across Aberdeen unique is our focus on community and capacity building, in addition to making connections between relevant researchers, and our historic relationship with The Macaulay Institute.

You can find out more about our research in the rest of this section – a cross-section of projects we’re currently running or have previously completed, some of our latest publications and a selection of societal impacts from our research.
